Estifanie H. Meer (Team Puffin)
Donald McGannon once said, “Leadership is an action, not a position.” In order to improve my leadership skills and to pass the time during quarantine, I had the honor to join Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT). During the past few months, I got to interact with young and persevering people with different stories to tell, but with the same goal of exchanging ideas to resolve issues that are prevalent in their community. I also met like-minded people that want to make the world a better place by having projects that campaign their chosen advocacies.
Not only did I learn about organizing projects, but I also got to travel the world virtually through the cultural exchange week where we feature a part of our country that will interest the other participants. It was a very informative and enjoyable experience. Together with our moderator Murtaja, we got to converse with each other about topics that are timely and relevant.
As the program comes to an end, I will forever be grateful for this experience. I will strive to become a leader that can invoke positive change, can serve the people whole heartedly, and can become an inspirational leader of tomorrow.
